On this page, we have gathered some information for you so that you know what benefits come with a membership, what requirements you need to meet, and how you can join our youth group.
What's in it for you?
A membership in our junior research group comes with several benefits. Here are three of them:
- Use our research group to connect with others
The main goal of our youth group is to improve collaboration between PhD students and interested Master's students at TU Braunschweig in the fields of mathematics and mechanics. If you are involved in one of these fields and want to expand your network, you have come to the right place.
- Participate in our activities
We plan regular activities such as specialist lectures, excursions, and social events. This allows you to gain insights into interesting fields, visit companies and research institutions that offer exciting perspectives for your further education, and exchange experiences with other members of TU Braunschweig.
- Become a student member of GAMM
All our members who are enrolled students at TU Braunschweig receive a free student membership in GAMM. As a GAMM member, you enjoy several benefits, such as reduced conference fees for many conferences organized by GAMM.
Requirements for your membership
In order to become a member of the GAMM research group of TU Braunschweig, you have to be a member of the TU Braunschweig. We offer two types of memberships in our research group.
- Regular membership
If you are an enrolled (doctoral) student of TU Braunschweig, you can become a regular member of our research group. For all our regular members, we provide student memberships of GAMM. Furthermore, regular members may participate in all activities and meetings of our groups and have a vote in important decisions of the research groups such as the election of a new executive board. - Senior membership
All members of TU Braunschweig, which are not enrolled in one of the TU's degree programs, may become senior members of the research group. Unfortunately, we cannot provide senior members with a GAMM student membership. All senior members have to have a regular GAMM membership in order to become a member of the research group. Senior members may participate in all activities and meetings of the research group. Nevertheless, they cannot participate in votings of the research group and cannot become members of the executive board.
All details regarding memberships in our research group are regulated in our statutes.

If you fulfil the requirements listed above, it is easy to become a member of our research group. In most cases, the application process looks like this:

- We will contact you and let you to let you know whether you are eligible to become a regular member or a senior member. In both cases, we will add you to our mailing list add this point so that you receive all the latest news about our activities.
- Congratulations, you are a member of our research group now. If you are a student of TU Braunschweig and require a student membership in the GAMM, we will organise the membership for you. This may take a little while, but you can already participate in all of the group's activities.
